Don't Blink... (A little more serious than normal)

So I was driving home today thinking about how old I am, which for those of you who don't know, I just turned a whole year older! Anyway, that song came on... Don't Blink. I love that song and it is so true, time does fly. When it got to the part where he talks about his 50 year marriage, I thought about my parents and it got me calculating, here are the stats I came up with.

  • When I was married in 2002, my parents had been married for 30 years!
  • When they reach their 50 year mark, I will have been married for 20 years.
  • I will have a 17 year old son
  • And a 14 year old daughter
  • And who knows what else...
  • And here is the kicker, I will be 42 years old!

So what I realized is that 28 isn't all that bad for now. But before I know it... I will be that 42 year old. And hopefully I will still be in love and loving life with my big babies as much as I do now.

Family Reunion #2 and #3: Bear Lake

I am really late in posting both of these trips. We were able to go to Bear Lake twice this summer. Once with Brians Mom's family and a few friends, and once with my Dad's family. We camped both times but at different spots. One in the mountains and one near the beach. We had such a fun time with both of our families, we just love them so much.

Here we are after camping for a few days, we were all obviously in need of a good shower!

Here are some pics of Tayah, she loved to sit in the water and splash or try to eat dirt. For being a crawler, she sure was a good baby while we were there.

On both trips the only pictures I could get of Dallin were in the sand. He could have played there for days, he is a total boy!

Bear Lake Twinners!

When we were at Bear Lake Tayah and Blakely had a few twinner outfits, so we put them together for a photo shoot. They are so stinking cute!

Here they are at the beach in their cutest swimming suits.

These are their darling little skirt outfits that their Grannies bought them in Arizona.

So why is Blakely upset in all these photos? Oh, it's because my daughter is a bully. (Look at her grin) The pics in the skirts were hopeless, because Blakely was afraid of her. Sorry Blakers...

Growing Up and Growing Old Segment: We are Old!

This weekend was Brian's 10 year high school reunion. I can't believe how things have changed since then. Jobs, school, marriage, kids... The list could go on and on. But, looking back it doesn't seem like it has been that long or that we are that different. Sometimes it seems like it just happened. Isn't that strange?

We had a good time with old friends, just catching up. It was surprising how easily the conversations came even though for some it had been 10 years since they last spoke to eachother. It is crazy to see how different everyone's lives are, but there was a lot of the same too. Married with kids and working.

I wish that I would have seen all these guys in high school. To see what they were really like. To see them in action in their glory days! But by the stories they tell, I might have thought they were jerks and steered clear of Brian. Thank goodness for maturity!

But, Brian is so grateful for the friends he has had through his life, and most of them are still close and he knows that he can count on them when he needs it. I am sure that all the fun times at RHS helped strengthen those bonds and so have the 10 years since!
