Growing Up and Growing Old Segment: Little Changes

This month has gone by so fast! It is crazy to me that when I take a second and look back at life for myself, my husband, and my children that in one months time, there are so many changes. None of these are drastic, but they are the little things that I can see happening. Some come on an almost automatic basis, because that is how we are made. But other changes take practice and discipline to make ourselves better and stronger. Here are some of our little changes...
  • Tayah got her first two teeth! (One April 24th and one today April 30th!)
  • Dallin learned how to take off his shirt by himself (most of the time!)
  • Tayah can sit up all by herself for a long time now.
  • Brian got put in as the young men's 1st counselor. He will be working with the teachers and teaching a lesson each week (which he has done so good on!)
  • I finally got the motivation to start working out again, and have been sticking to it! (so far...)
  • Dallin has gotten better at coloring, I mean he isn't staying in the lines or anything, but is getting more patience and making things look better.
  • Tayah is recognizing more people and expressing it. It is so cute, she does this little dance when she sees me, Brian, Dallin or her grandparents.
  • Dallin is getting so much sweeter with his sister. Every morning when Tayah wakes up, he will say in the cutest voice, "Good Morning, Sunshine. Good morning, Princess." I love it!
  • Brian has done a lot of work in the yard, getting an RV pad ready, putting in new gates, transplanting sod... which all look great!
  • I have been focusing more on positive comments, especially with my little family. I can see a difference in Dallin and hope I can continue.

I know that most of these seem insignificant, but these are things I can see happening at my house and some day my little ones can look back on this and see how they have grown up and Brian and I can be reminded of how life was when they were so tiny. I love you Brian, Dallin and Tayah!

Good Boy Chart

So after a long week of struggles with our sweet boy, we decided to create a "Good Boy Chart" Dallin has to have a good day, or a least do a good thing (like do something the first time he is asked, or help out his sister, or be nice to his cousins... you get the idea) to get a sticker. Once he fills his chart he gets to go and pick a toy. Which I can only imagine will be some kind of Transformer! I am hoping he will get this right away, but we will see. I will post a picture of him with his first reward, hopefully it isn't two months from now.

Tayah is 6 months Old!!!

We reached another big milestone... Tayah had food for the first time and she loved it! I can't believe that squash could make someone so happy!
I am ready for more Mommy!
She wasn't loving the juice... she kept spitting it out. I am sure that in a few weeks she will be downing those sippy cups, just like the food... our little chunky girl!

Puppy Love!

If you know Dallin, then you know his puppy.
He got this special toy from Granny Ruth when he was only one month old. He loves it so much and never goes anywhere without it and doesn't share it with anyone... until recently. One day a few weeks ago Tayah was crying and then suddenly she stopped. I turned around to see puppy in her arms. Dallin proudly told me that he "gave sissy, puppy." Now when she gets upset he will just go over and give it to her. It usually makes her stop crying too... I can't believe how cute he is to her!
