Baby Animal Days

We headed up to Baby Animal Days again this year, but only made it to the animals only weekend. It was still so much fun for the kids and a great time with friends!

Dallin was a little shy of the animals this year. It was hard to get him to hold any of them. He just wanted to look and pet them. But, I finally got him to put the bunny on his lap. You can tell he is still a little nervous.

Tayah love the animals and probably would have taken one home if we would have let her. She was so cute and sweet with all of them.

Overall, it was a great day and we ended it with a picnic with Maddox take out. Couldn't be much better.

Easter Weekend

Easter Outfits:

Brian's parents always buy the kids a darling Easter outfit to wear through the weekend. They all looked so cute in them! Tayah's has some darling capri's to go with her outfit, but it was a little too chilly.

Sunday Dinner:

Sunday evening we went over to Brian's parents for one final egg hunt and a yummy Mexican dinner. By this time the kids had gotten so much candy, we were glad that Grandma and Grandpa decided to put money in the eggs.

Sunday Lunch:

For Sunday lunch we headed over to my parents house for a yummy potluck lunch and egg hunt. We all pitched in and got the kids a variety of things and numbered them. The kids were assigned a number and then went to work. It turned out great.

Sunday Morning:

The kids woke up to find two eggs on the couch. A sign of the Easter bunny. They then searched the house for their baskets.

Dallin found his under the kitchen sink.

Tayah found her's in the front closet. She is rockin' the bedhead!!

Saturday Afternoon:

Grandma Barker has a tradition to have an Easter party the Saturday before Easter every year. There is always good food and it is fun to visit with family. Then we kick of the Easter egg hunting.

The older kids go on a scavenger hunt to find eggs with clues in them, their sack of goodies is always at the last spot. Grandma Barker's lap, you think they would catch on to this... but they still love the hunt.

The little's still have their own little egg hunt. They are assigned a color of eggs and then go out to find them all. Tayah had a great time doing this with Mommy, Daddy, and Grandpa's help.

We also had the opportunity to watch and listen to General Conference which really reminds us who is important at Easter... Our Savior.

We are so thankful for His love and sacrifice and hope that we too can be like Him.

Goodbye

Today was a sad day for us.

We had to say goodbye to our sweet Duke.

This dog has been such a huge part of our family. We love him so much!

Brian got Duke when he was in high school.

Duke would have been 15 this summer.

When we were dating we used to sneak into the back yard late at night while Duke was in his kennel and he would start growling and getting defensive, then Brian and I would pop up and talk to him, and he would wag his tail. He was the happiest dog, you could have asked for.

He came to live with us for the first few years of our marriage.

He was a good guard dog too. When Brian had to work swing shift for a few months, Duke slept in the bathroom, and I always felt safe with him there.

Winters became too hard on him so we sent him to live back at Brian's parents. There he could stay in the garage.

He also had a lot more company there, with all the kids and Brian's parents.

He was the sweetest dog you would ever meet. He loved children and wanted to always be a part of the action when the grand kids were there.

He got a little chunky from all the dog bones the kids insisted on giving him every time they were at Grandma and Grandpa's.

We will miss our sweet buddy.
