We had a great time as usual this 4th. I think it is one of my favorite days. My whole family was out of town, so we didn't quite do our usual, but had a lot of fun.
We started out at the Hooper parade. Bailey Brian's niece was on a float for school.
Here are all the kids. I can't believe they had to wear jackets at first, I think this was the first 4th that felt cool.

Tayah and Grandpa. If he is near, she is either in his arms or on his lap. It will be a sad day for both when she is too big to do that!

Dallin waiting for the parade to start. He was so excited to get the candy. Which he got an entire bag of!

After the parade we headed to Riverdale park to play some games. The kids love to get all the junk from the fish ponds and bean bag toss. But, oh well. It is tradition.
While we were at the park, the kids took a break from the games to play on the playground. There was a woman sitting on a bench in full Muslim attire. She had on a long black dress and a black head piece, so only her eyes were visible. Dallin was walking past her with Brian and was only a few feet away. He pointed at her and said, "Look Dad, she's a ninja!"
It was so funny. I know that she heard, and was embarrassed. Needless to say we spent some time talking about different religions.
After lunch and a nap we went down to the annual BBQ at Bev and Dave's (family friends).
I was in charge of a dessert. So I stole this idea and made a cupcake flag.

Tayah spent most of the evening playing in the playground.

My cute kiddos!

Dallin was running and playing so hard. He played some baseball with his cousins and they both did a fun little craft.

Then we rushed home to the Hooper fireworks, which were great.
What a fun day!
